The Skin Project
2003-10-15 | 11:03 a.m. I don't feel like updating lately. Also, I miss Seb. He sent me a cool text message type of thing though, and it totally brightened my day. OH MAN, speaking of which, I'm sure any of you who talk to me on a semi-regular basis know about my interest in the Skin project. Well guess what? I got accepted. Only 702 words in the story, and I GET ACCEPTED. I'm going to Toronto for the tattoo because I know it will get the respect it deserves there. Not only did I get accepted, but Shelley Jackson, the author, said my letter was "beautiful". Hearing that from such an accomplished writer is a really big compliment for a diary nerd like me. Anyway, for you bastards that haven't clicked the Skin link, here's the deal: The author has a short story. One word of it is getting tattooed on each person, and it will never be repeated on paper, film, or anywhere else. Only we will know the story, unless you want to get all of us together and read our bodies. Heh. If your word arrives and you don't like it, tough shit, don't participate. That's my plan. I'm devoted to the project, but not so devoted that I'd put something that could hurt somebody if it was taken brutally out of context. If my word arrives and it's hateful, I'll withdraw my participation. Eh, just click the link, I can't explain it very well because I have to go to work now. In conclusion, Seb is awesome and I can't wait to hear what my word is. -S
