What are friends for?

A couple nice words from an unexpected person is guarenteed to brighten anyone's day.

I knocked myself out with cold meds last night and today I feel much better, already. Not perfect, but able to speak and breathe again. I hauled ass to my dance class this morning and we actually finished the Linkin Park piece for the competition on Saturday, so... go team on that one! I was walking out the doors in all my bedheaded, workout-geared glory, generally looking pretty toussled. Wilkes and some fat rocker dude were just walking in. Wilkes brushed the hair back from his face in that funny little I'm-Wilkes-And-I-Haven't-Realized-My-Sexiness way he does, and looks at me and goes "There's a bee out there! Outside the door!"

I started to laugh, because that was really awkward and the way he said it was hilarious. Then he clears his throat and goes "Hiya Sam, you look really nice today."

And I said Thanks, you too.

What the fuck is that all aboot? I can't blame it on the cold meds. I've just been saying the dumbest stuff naturally lately. Anyway, that was very kind of Wilkes to compliment me when I feel like crap, and it was made even nicer by the fact that he didn't know I felt like I looked like crap.

Man, VERB TENSES, I'm tellin' ya. They fail me when I'm sick. Or I fail them. Who's in charge here?

So yes, good ole Wilkes made me smile this morning, I'm fully stocked with oranges and rice cakes for the next few days to make up for last night, I'm starving poor Phat Name the Phish because his food is upstairs but he lives underwater downstairs, I need to get some gas and maybe even a Slurpee, the passport application process is not going amazingly well, and that is my life at the moment. Have a great day.
